Austria is Now the Official Host City of Miss Earth 2015

Miss Earth may be the “youngest” of the top beauty pageants in the world, but it has managed to amass such a large following of devotees in its fifteen years of existence! And true to form, the hype train to Miss Earth 2015 is now rolling, with representatives from candidate countries being announced in rapid order. An evidence that things are going well for it? Well, an official host city was already announced for the pageant a few weeks ago, and this year’s Miss Earth pageant is slated to take place at Vienna, Austria!

You really can’t go any “classier” than Vienna. The city is rife with history as being one of the seats of royalty stretching as late back as the early half of the 20th century. Even in the 21st century, it still retains a cultural legacy that is practically unrivaled by any other city in the world. Of course, with an event that focuses on maintaining the well-being of the planet, it only makes sense that Miss Earth fuses its brand of modern eco-tourism with the “classical” trappings of Vienna.

As of this writing, thirty-three contestants have already been included in the final list of competing beauties for Miss World 2015. The list will probably double by the end of August once other countries have gone through their own “gauntlets” and send in their official representatives for The Big One!

Finally, seven countries will also make their “debuts” in Miss Earth 2015: Angola, Azerbaijan, Guinea, Montenegro, Mozambique, Northern Marianas, and Palestine. We’ve always heard about “diversity” being a main problem for large-scale events like these; well, it is called ‘Miss Earth’, after all, and the least the organizers can do for it is to reach out to people from all over the world to celebrate the beauty of Earth!
