Indrani Dasgupta, a famous Indian model was aspiring to be a lawyer. The glitz and glamour of the fashion world had enticed her to try her luck in the world of modelling. This 33 year old model was born and raised in Muscat in a bengali family.
In a family full of engineers, Indrani took a bold step by entering into the fashion industry at the age 18. She didn’t let her studies take a back seat because of modelling and pursued an economics degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University.
She took her first step in the glamour industry with print and television advertisements. Designer Ashish Soni spotted her and offered her to walk the ramp for his collection and ever since there was no stopping for this Bengali bombshell. She walked the ramp for a host of talented designers like Ritu Kumar, Sabyasachi, J J Vallaya, Tarun Tahiliani, Aki Narula among others.
This bold and vivacious model was the brand ambassador of brands like Lakme, Allen Solly, ITC Wills Lifestyle, Monte Carlo and Reebok.
She is quite a popular face on TV ad campaigns and print commercials like Airtel, LG, Parachute Oil, Panasonic and Santro. A very popular number from Euphorbia rock band ‘Kaise Bhoolegi Mera Naam’ from the album Phir Dhoom had Indrani featured in it.
In 2002 she was awarded the Society Achiever’s Award for glamour. Indrani even hosted a travel show on Fox Traveller in 2011 along with actress Sugandha Garg named ‘What’s With Indian Men?’ This stunner is very active with her social work where she conducts women empowerment workshops and presentation sessions with NGOs.
